CELEBRATE RECOVERY

CELEBRATE RECOVERY

Do you have a hurt, habit, or hang-up that either gets you into trouble or hinders your life in some way?

We all do. The truth is, you may not even know what it is yet. Celebrate Recovery helps identify what those things are, gives us tools, and surrounds us with community to help us live in freedom. It is a Christ-centered 12-step program for those who are ready to embark on a journey of lasting change.

What is Celebrate Recovery?

The purpose of our Celebrate Recovery ministry is to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the 12 Steps and 8 Recovery Principles. This experience allows us to be changed. We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our lives´ problems.

By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program, we discover our personal, loving, and forgiving Higher Power – Jesus Christ.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

FOOD

There is a meal at 6:00 pm for all who want to take part. This is where we start to build healthy relationships. We have the chance to meet potential sponsors, develop support and accountability teams, and cultivate healthy friendships. Our CR food team prepares all sorts of delicious and creative meals every week.

LARGE GROUP

This is a great opportunity to gather as a recovery community. We worship God with our Celebrate Recovery band, receive teaching on the 12 steps and their Biblical comparisons, and hear testimonies from those who have walked the road of recovery.

OPEN SHARE GROUPS

We gather in gender-based and issue-specific groups. Open Share groups provide an opportunity to share our experience, strength, and hope from our own recovery journey. Safety is key in recovery. In order to keep groups safe, we hold to these 5 guidelines:

1. Keep your sharing focused on your own thoughts and feelings. Please limit your sharing to 3-5 minutes.

2. There will be no cross talk, please. Cross talk is when two individuals engage in dialogue, excluding all others. Each person is free to express feelings without interruption.

3. We are here to support each other. We will not attempt to “fix” one another.

4. Anonymity and confidentiality are basic requirements. What is shared in the group stays in the group.

5. Offensive language has no place in a Christ-centered recovery group.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not at all! In fact, that is one of the most common misconceptions about CR. While those habits are addressed, one person may struggle with an eating addiction, another pornography, still another codependency or anger. There is a place for every hurt, habit and hang-up to find real healing and hope at CR.
People share stories in a relevant way as we learn together that we are not alone. We break out by gender to share in safe, confidential places. The night concludes with refreshments and provides a time and space to build lasting friendships.
Absolutely not. Celebrate Recovery is unapologetically Christ-centered, but it is for anyone who has a desire to find healing and hope.
